The biggest publishing house in the Czech Republic, founded in 1949. Today they publish over 2000 titles a year. Since the beginning, they have published over 25 thousand books, with over 450 million copies in total. This publisher, was one of the 7 international founders of the Children's Book Fair in 1964, in Bologna, Italy.

They issue their own titles, under their own brand names, in Czech Republic and Slovakia, but in partnership with their local partners, they also have a line of books in Polish, Hungarian, Finnish, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Croatian, Slovenian, and other, mainly European languages.
